Windows 10 Backup Error 0x800700E1
This computer was upgraded to Windows 10 pro from Windows 7 and it had only 4GB RAM and a hard drive with 250 bad sectors. I was running a backup to an internal drive and just at 97% complete I get the error code 0x800700E1 with the information "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software. I'm using Windows Defender.
(The reason for the error is because "Windows Defender" would have quarantined that file. This is preventing the backup from backing-up the file. Go to Windows Defender and delete the file from the quarantine section. This will effective remove the offending file and then permit the backup to complete.)
Windows Defender found no problems. Malwarebytes found no problems. Avast smart scan found no problems. Avast FULL SCAN found one problem. Infected file c:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\wse_astromenda\UpdateProc\bkup.dat.vir After this was cleared the backup completed with 2 exceptions on Quickbooks files.
